"I lost track of The Midnight after the old Ben Folds 5 days. The guy's talent is astounding. About 4 years ago, we saw him on tour with John Mayer, and I was thrilled to find him again. Last year, we saw him with the full band as he toured the new Way to Normal album. I felt ashamed to have been out of the loop for so long. Brilliant. This time, the solo performance was a fantastic twist. Without the band, he fills the low end void with even more amazing piano playing. Seeing him in concert is something you should never pass up. I thought perhaps without the band, the intensity would drop, but what happens is rather incredible. And he draws in the audience more at the same time. He is the Albert Einstein of Piano. Plus, he is more free to do whatever he feels like at that moment. On the personal side, trying to figure out this "one angry dwarf" morphed with the funny stories from the goof ball on stage is a lesson in psychology. It's a perfect blend. Quite entertaining."
